Reversals
A payment UniPay has recorded is never deleted or edited. If it shouldn’t stand — the customer’s bank recalled it, a chargeback was upheld, it was keyed against the wrong account — it is reversed: the payment stays on record, marked reversed, and the bill it paid is owed again.
A reversal is a correction to the record. UniPay doesn’t move money, so any refund to the customer is between you and them.

- Someone at Axis raises a request for the payment, with a category and a reason. A request is
Pending; nothing has changed yet. - A different person approves or rejects it. Approval reverses the payment at once. Rejection leaves it as it was.
There’s no API for partners to reverse a payment or raise a request. To ask for one, contact your Axis Solutions contact, as for
support, with the payment’s rrn, its billNo, the amount, and why it should be reversed. A payment is
reversed once; a payment already reversed, or with a request pending, can’t be asked for again.
Each reversal carries one of these categories:
category |
Used for |
|---|---|
Dispute |
A customer dispute or a chargeback. |
Fraud |
A fraudulent payment. |
BankCorrection |
A correction by a bank. |
PayoutRejected |
A transfer that was rejected. |
OperatorError |
A payment keyed wrongly. |
SystemCorrection |
A correction to a system error. |
